3G routers - anyone else's experiences??

Having suffered long frustration with slower broad-band performance... (dodgy BT lines, lots of cables under the road, area prone to light & frequent flooding of man 'oles...) and normally only getting about 0.2Mb/s download speed (I've tried BT, Madasfish, spoken to engineers.. think it's just c****y wires...)I though I'd try a 3G dongle & a router that takes dongles (eg Edimax 6200n - try Ebuyer...)

After faffing around with the box & eventually uprgading the firmware to 2.12 it sprang into life and immediately got 1.2Mb/s download.. in an area incidentally with notoriously bad mobile coverage...

Now, it looks like Mobile BB is more expensive (but prices are dropping)...

Any other views/experiences???
