What can I do?

I currently have a joint mortgage with the Abbey, I have split from my wife about 2 years ago, and she wants her name off the mortgage, we have a consent order that states I am responsible for the negative equity, about £30000, the Abbey will only remove her name if I pay £43000, which is not possible, I pay the mortgage, and now she is going to get the courts to force me to sell at a massive loss. My new partner is willing to go on the mortgage but she currently has an IVA which runs for another months. I have actually thought of letting the courts force me to sell and declaring myself bankrupt. The Abbey aren't interested What else can I do?

When you both sign the agreement, both of you are responsible. If it is not affordable anymore, the lender will have no option but to repossess the property as a last resort.
Talk to abbey.....Motto: 'If you don't ask, you don't get!!'
