in Debt-free wannabe
I am looking for a basic bank account, I have been declined by Natwest and Co-op even though they are supposed to be for those with bad credit. I have been under an IVA since January this year. I have got an account with Halifax at the moment but they have threatened to close it since I am trying to reclaim bank charges.

Please can anyone suggest a bank that won't reject me??!!!:mad:

    Have you asked this on the consumeractiongroup.com/forum?

    Have you notified the financial ombudsman - I did read its unlawful to close accounts, or something similar

    I opened a basic account with A&L, didnt ask for overdraft or any extras. Was approved where others had turned me down. Worth a try :)

    Turns out i dont need it now as i got charges back from hsbc and they didnt close my account.

    well done for beating them!! And I will remember that if they threaten to close mine over the charges.
