Photo Christmas Pressies

Got a bit of a quandry here and would love to see what others think.
I'm one of those who think we should all do what we do best, and use our skills to advantage, especially at Christmas. Last year the family members each had a hamper of my 'specials'
jam, chutney, bottled fruit, cake, pate, shortbreads
you get the picture, so this year I'm going for a slightly different slant.
Now I'm not bad with a camera, and tend to shoot off zillions of frames on all occaisions, and I am not too bad handling Photoshop either, so I thought that one really nice portrait, well printed on Pro paper, and in a super frame would be something they could all keep and , hopefully , treasure.
Here's the dillema, do I give John a portrait of himself, or of his partner Jane, (and vice versa) And do I give the grand children a pic of themselves, or one of Grandma and Grandad, or of Dad?
I really like doing the old style Christmas, even if it does involve modern technology. (as opposed to knitting gloves----that was two years ago, still got sore fingers)

I do a picture of the boys as part of the present for relatives, we are getting some calendar makers if I can find some again in £1 shop to make calendars for some family members. I got them made into mugs (you can get the stuff to do them yourself) one year & it's lovely to see them still being used. My Nana has 5 children, 20+ grandchildren & even more great grandchildren so it's tight for space on the walls of her little bungalow the mugs she said were a perfect idea. You can get fabic transfers to make photos ones too. One family member lost her Mum 2 years ago, she was saying how she'd love her to be with them so I bought a photo bauble. She now has her Mum & Dad on the tree, oh yes every year I make someone cry with the thoughtful presents, something I am known for now
but better than bein known for buying junk!
There are other places do them, we got a larger one http://www.boots.com/en/Photo-Baubles-4-pack_124702/ but those are 3 for 2.One day I might be more organised...........

absolutely love the idea of the photo baubles---not come accross that before, will investigate.................
OK done that, but can't see how they work0 -
As you are OK with Photoshop, how about a nice montage of all family members, chuck in a few pets maybe, & house/s as background blended in?
I did one after my son's wedding [not as main gift], included church as a pale background & all guests dotted around, feather edges of individual layesrs so all blends in nicelyWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
It's nothing new, you're in good company or at least infamous company giving photos for gifts.
I was watching a history programme on Tv the other night about Mrs Simpson and the King (which one was he). I think it said they had got married and went to see Hitler, and his present to them was a photo of himself.
Can't you just see them opening it now, ....
'Oh what i surprise it's just what we wanted'
Coming back to now though i'd rather have a gift that someone had taken the time to make rather than something shop bought.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

They either have a section to slide the image in or they pop in half I think. The large one we got you could put 2 images in back to back, possibly could do the same with the smalll ones. Snow globes tend to be appreciated by those who love festive ornaments. One day I might be more organised...........
