Where to buy DS console?

I am looking for a DS console for my son for xmas and he wantss a pokemon game for it. Has anybody been successful with e bay i have seen some from china and they have great feedback but i am worried. They have the games built in so it would be a lot cheaper. If not does anybody know of any deals coming up?

  • im not sure about the ones from china, ive had some dodgy deals and fake games that didn't work from there before. the best plan would be to buy second hand maybe from a uk ebayer.

I dont know if you were aware but there is now a new version of the DS called DSi which has a camera on it (thats the only real difference) so if you arent too bothered about having that, you will get a real bargain on the original DS with no camera. (you really don't need the camera for anything)
It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

Buy a normal ds from a local trader, then buy an R4 card and download games onto it.

*disclaimer: doing so is at your own risk, adhering to local laws etc etc blah blah*
just passing through.... Nothing to see....

One annoying thing with the DSI is that it doesn't have a GBA advance slot.

So if you want to play games like guitar hero for the DS you can't play them on the DSI.

I wanted to get a DSI when they first came out but i like playing guitar hero too much!

Don't risk buying from abroad with this sort of thing.

IF you get it at all, it may be a few ££ cheaper, but it might COST you a lot more ...

You are much safer getting the best deal you can from a proper retailer here - there are loads from the specialist Game, Gamestation, Smyths etc, to the supermarkets like ASDA, Tesco, Sainsburys etc.

Buy from these, and you have some comeback in case of problems. Buy from abroad, and you may lose everything, and still not have a console.

If the game is 'built in' then it is a fake. No consoles have games 'built in'.

It is one thing to risk the odd game for £10, but not £100 for the console.
