Single mattress that will last

Recommend me a make of mattress that will see my baby through from 2'ish till leaving home! (I'm thinking 18ish, but could be one of those who stays till they are 40!)
I have a silentnight firm one that I was happy with untill night time feeds, sitting on the end of the bed has now made a slight dip - so I am thinking maybe not silentnight, but have no experience of other good makes.
I want one that will fit onto a junior low bed and then onto an adult frame later on. I want to buy a good one and not a cheap one as I think they are a false economy.
Many thanks x
(price limit i am thinking £100 tops)

I'm not allowed to give recommendations on MSE, but I would suggest going for a top of the range open coil sprung mattress.
Stay well away from the big brands (especially the make of your existing mattress), and forget the big chain stores. Shop on line, and go for the smaller independent manufacturers as they do tend to still hand make the mattresses. And you will get far better quality for your money.
Make sure the seller gives a satisfaction guarantee.0 -
Thanks Tim!
Stay well away from the big brands (especially the make of your existing mattress), That's interesting! Maybe I am not the only one to find there is actually a roll/dip that can be made (not sure if I am a hippo though!), and my bed is only a couple of years old.50p/£24.00 Xmas 2010:rudolf:

Do a search for that brand in the MSE forums, and you will see that 2 years is actually a long time for them.0
