Hi
I currently earn £22k my missus earns £10k we have a flat at the moment and will hopefully make £18k profit once we sell up.
Do you think its possible for us to get a larger mortgage so we can buy a house?
We will be looking at houses around £170k with a mortgage or £155k
Do you think any lenders will be willing to part with the money? I will be looking to have the mortgage over 30 years to reduce costs etc.
Thanks

As long as you do not have any otehr outgoings there may be a few lenders that could agree this for you.

Hi There
As herbie says it is possible but I don't think you will be able to afford the repayments, no matter what term you take it over. I ould be very careful getting yourself into this level of debt for a house.I am a Mortgage Adviser

The words of caution from MM are very apt. Take advice and if you aren't sure imagine trying to save the proposed mortgage repayments each month to get a feel for the effect it would have on you.
SSI am a fee charging WoM Mortgage broker.I now no longer give information and opinion within the Mortgage boards, because a number of posters who, having approached me professionally, agreed my fee-which has been been made very clear at the outset, taken my advice (normally cancelling a [home visit] meeting at short notice) have then approached one of the fee-free brokers on here to arrange the very same deal I have advised.Whilst I totally concur with the ethos of "money saving"- abusing the goodwill of a professional who provides a quality service is taking it too far! :mad:0
