Recently Self Employed: How to Mortgage?

Hi,
I'm a victim of the current economy and lost my job.
The Good news is I've got a new job that effectively doubled my salary.
(lost all sympathy there I guess!)
The Bad news is I'm on Short Term Contracts (3Months for this one) like I used to be before my full time position got rid of me.
However, 5 years ago when I finally had an offer accepted and proved who I was, Self Cert Mortgages were possible and I got a brilliant one from HBOS (Who said Fred Goodwin was all wrong?).
I'm just about paid off (I stopped overpaying when the interest rate dropped: I'm on .24% over base rate for the 25 years of mortgage).
So I'm looking to move houses to be closer to my new job.
But are there any mortgages out there for people who have been self employed for less than a year?

Very very few, and those that may be on offer will not be cheap,,, (Fees high, interest rates very high)
