borrowing money on mortgage

if i want to borrow£10000 to do home improvements can i put it on my mortgage or do i have to get an home improvement loan?

    You can put it on your mortgage either as a further advance from your current lender, or roll it all in to one mortgage if you re-mortgaged to a different lender - if this worked out to be more beneficial to you.

    a further advance is what it would be generically. What the marketing dept of that lender calls it may be different but further advance is fine.
