Parking in Manchester

Im off to Manchester this weekend for 3 nights staying in two different hotels, one near Granada Studios and the other kinda near Picadilliy Station. First hotel has parking but it costs, second has none so Im wanting to just park the car somewhere and leave it the whole time. Thought about airport parking but most of the places there say you need a boarding card to use them. Found a few NCPs that appear to have 24 hour rates about 6-7ish quid which seems quite reasonable but was wondering if anyone knew of a better option.

  • Hi

Theres lots of options for you - nr granada studios is regent retail park - lots of parking for free but only until 9pm. same as Piccadilly - theres ancoats retail park - 5 minute walk from piccadilly - i park here to go to work.

There are several other car parks around where you can park all day for a low fixed rate. some from £2.00. Let me know where you are staying and i can let you know best n cheapest place to park

    Does this help?

Gives names prices and special offers on many of the car parks in Manchester.

Some (possibly all) of the parking meters are free after lunch on Saturday so you may be able to keep it reasonable but like bordercars says it is better to pay a small fee than have your car broken into or otherwise damaged on the street.

I'm staying in Manchester too this weekend. We are staying at the Jury's Inn which i'm hoping isn't to far from Piccadilly Station. Decided to leave our car at home and go on the train as it only costs us £30ish for both of us return. Can't wait, going to see the Foo Fighters!!!

Wishing you a lovely weekend and hope you get your parking sorted.

you could always park in one of the towns on the metro route e.g Altrincham. There are lots of side streets on which you could park for free and then pick up your car at the end of the weekend. As long as you remember where you left it.

Take the station exit for the taxi rank and Fairfield St. Cross over to the Bull's Head pub and walk down Fairfield St with the old fire station on your right til it joins Whitworth St (about 200m). Continue down Whitworth St passing the Sackville St Building (large redbrick uni building) on your left and the small park with the statue of Alan Turing on your right, straight across Upper Brook St where you will see a small Post Office on your left, until you meet Oxford Rd by the Palace Theatre (about 500m). Turn right and walk up Oxford Rd, crossing the Rochdale canal. You will see an awning and steps leading down to the Temple of Convenience Bar, which is a former public toiliets, on your left (about 100m). That is on Great Brigewater St. You will find Jurys Inn about 300m along on your left hand side, opposite Bridgewater Hall.

Just for reference, Manchester city centre has 3 free shuttle bus services. Details can be found at:

For Jury's Inn, take the number 3 (purple) service from Man Pic and alight at Oxford Street and head for the Bridgewater Hall, as the hotel is just behind that.

Emms. I also went to see Take That last month and they were fantastic!! Really good atmosphere. Last saw Foo Fighters in December and they were magic. As you can see i have a very, very varied taste in music!! Hoping to see Pink in November.

Thanks to everyone for their advice on getting to Jury's Inn. Much appreciated and hopefully will save us hours trekking around.
