CCA request ignore, so stressed!

Hi there,
Firstly, I admire whoever set this site up. I absolutely despise people who think they have the right to demand/take money of hard working people just because they think they can. We should all fight this nonsense!
I need some advice on a situation I find myself in.
I signed up to a martial arts club a while ago and the way they present the contract is a bit shifty. Although you pay monthly fees to attend, they don't class it as an ongoing membership, but rather one big fee (paid in monthly insalments) for the entire course right through to black belt level, which they state will take around 3 years. When taking out the contract (which I was made to hurriedly sign whilst exhausted after a training session when the club was about to close for the night), I asked whether I was free to walk away if my circumstances changed, they said yes. I have misplaced my copy of the contract, so am unable to see what it said.
I have sent a CCA request to Belmont and as yet I have heard nothing. It has since been passed to a debt collection agency who have sent 2 letters advising that it is being passed to their solicitors if I don't pay up circa £3,000+ , which apparently represents the entire 3 year term of the 'contract'.
Are they allowed to ignore my CCA request and proceed anyway with court action? Also, were they entitled to sell the debt on whilst this was outstanding?
Amazingly, their most recent letter stated that they confirm that there are no outstanding issues on the account (despite me not receiving the CCA I requested).
It may also be worth mentioning that the debt collection agency it has been handed to has the same address as Belmont themselves, so is a division of Belmont of some sort I think.
Any advise would be othe welcome. I am so stressed over this!
Thanks so much,
Chris.

Hi
Firstly, I must say that I run a martial arts club and this kind of thing really gets my back up.
1 You should write to the club and ask for a copy of the contract.
2 Explain the same as you have say in your post to them.
3 Say you thought is was a monthly charge ect.
This is not normal for most martial arts clubs.
P.S. Why did you stop training ?
SidekickTeacher 1+2 = 3
CSA 1+2 = 30,0000 -
Hi,
Thanks for your response.
Have laready sent a CCA request and a subject access request. No response from either. Debt has gone straight to the recovery agency, ignoring all my requests.
I stopped training, as my family and work commitments shifted, so I was unable to make it to the club for the session times.

Chris.
They know as do I, that only a small number of students will make black belt. This is a con demand to see the contract.
Were there any other fees to pay?
Insurance, Gradings or others.
What was the style ?
SidekickTeacher 1+2 = 3
CSA 1+2 = 30,0000 -
No other costs from what I know.
The style was MMA. It was a good club, training-wise, but obviously my view of them has changed now, given this.
I have sent the CCA and Sibject Access Request, so I have done all I cna to request a copy of the contract.
I'm just worried about what steps they will take next, seen as they have ignored my dialogue.
Thanks again for your responses.
