This was originally spotted by : InfernoZeus on HotUkDeals and it's a real bargain. You can get Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for £1.74 on Steam, up until tomorrow. The link is here and it's a great RPG. Especially if you plan on playing it as an evil sod. It has lightsabres, Jedi, Sith, and a completely original plot.

Cheers, it's one of those games I meant to buy ages ago but kept putting off :)
At this price it's silly not to :)

IIRC it can have problems on Vista, something to do with one of the DLL files needing updating, and may require it be set to only use one core on multi core CPU's (from memory you can do that in task manager).

I played this recently and it has severe problems with any multi-core or P4 computer. It IS fixable (you need to tab out and set affinity to just one CPU) and you may need to be careful with the graphics options.

Having said all of that it is well worth playing (great game) and for £1.74 it is a steal!
  • I agree it's a great game - not very long though, so I was disappointed about that.

    It's only a game

If you follow up on some of the side quests, it takes a lot longer. And some of the side quests are great. My favourite quest when playing Dark Side was the Romeo and Juliet quest. And playing Light Side, the Manaan Trial was excellent.
  • Fantastic game - and a far superior story to the (incomplete) sequel!
Would buy it for my nephew if there was a version for the mac. (they're crazy people who don't have any Windows PCs!)
