Not been paid in new job

Hi folks,
I started a new job 3 weeks ago, I was told I would have to work a week in hand but would be paid today for two weeks work.
When checking, I hadnt been paid so phoned payroll at new job to be told my line manager didn't give them the hours I worked so I was on the system but with no hours given they haven't paid me.
I rang my line manager to be told there is a big problem with pay roll not her fault and it will take another 3 weeks to pay me! Nothing they can do nor can they give me an advance.
I am due into work tomorrow but extremely cross, what do people suggest I do?

No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Speak to Payroll again and explain the problem again, if not them can you go higher?

What does it say in your contract? If you have no contract what did it say in your offer letter? From what you say you are paid weekly. If that is correct then clearly then you can either contact them again by phone asking for your salary for the past xx weeks as this is causing you financial difficulties. Alternatively you can write to your line manager raising a grievance stating that you are supposed to be paid weekly and you have now worked xx weeks without any payment forthcoming. In addition you have now been advised by payroll that this will take another 3 weeks to sort out. Add that you do not find this acceptable as you have bills to pay etc and ask for a commitment that any charges that you have incurred as a result of the delay in your salary will be covered by the Company. Finally advise that you enjoy your job etc hope that this can be sorted and will expect payment within 3 working days.
If you do not get a response, escalate it to the next level and state that you are disappointed that no-one has sorted out your pay and that if you do not receive payment within 3 working days you will reluctantly have to take this to Tribunal.0 -
Retail? I suspect your manager is telling porkes and has messed up. It is her/his responsibilty to sort it out.Hi folks,

Try again or you might have to go over his/her head.0
