Address blacklisted?

Hi - can anyone tell me if when you are in massive debt, your address is blacklisted?
I am in big debt all in my name (cards, loans etc) and trying to sort out - have been with CCCS for 2 years - my boyfriend has a different name and in no debt at all, used to get credit easily but just applied for a loan and was rejected.
Is it because he lives with me and the address is blacklisted. If so, can he get around this?

Addresses are not blacklisted.

Your credit report is about you, not your address.
They only time that your poor credit rating can effect someone else is if you are financially linked; i.e. joint account, joint credit, mortgage......Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thank you fermi.
We do have a joint mortgage but that is not in arrears neither is any of the household bills. All that is in arrears are things in my name.
Would this make a difference do you think?0 -
You are now financially linked to your BF via the mortgage and that will affect his credit rating as well as yours. The fact that the mortgage is up to date does not matter. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Yet. It is the existence of the financial association that matters, not the nature or status of it.

Thank you but Oh God. Is there any way I can get my name taken off the mortgage do you think and just leave his name on it. I really don't want him dragged into my mess - and it is a BIG mess believe me. He knows some of it but not all - that sounds awful but I just kept getting more and more into trouble with finances.
At the moment I feel like jumping off a bridge but the thought of my son is stopping me doing so. Never felt so low and scared. What a mess I am in.0 -

Take it easy. What is done is done. I am surprised that you were not told what would happen when you joined CCCS.
You need to talk to your OH and tell him what the problem is. You would be surprised how well most OHs respond. A bit of a rant sometimes and then they calm down. if your OH can afford the mortgage without your income, then that may be an option.
On the other hand most DFW would suggest that taking out loans for things is not generally a good idea. So fill in an SOA and See if we can help you reduce imprve your finances.
