Any tips for heat rash on feet where straps of sandals are?

On the front of both my feet, my sandals are leather and have just one each across, but with my feet sweating i now have a rash on both feet.It is`nt sore or itchy because i keep putting cream on and walking around the house barefoot. Its got to the point now that when i go out i put a plaster over it to stop it sweating more.
HELP!!!
val;)

I take antihistamine tablets (like the ones you use for hayfever) to stop this - it's one of the most irritating things you'll ever experience!!!! On extreme hot days I've had it on my hands, feet and knees (?!)

It might be worth seeing your GP: it could be !!!!!ly heat rash, or it could be eczema (there's a special one you get on feet!) or even I suppose a fungal infection? And I don't know what cream you're using, but GP might be able to offer you something to help it clear up better.

Longer term, having a barrier between your feet and the leather might help - I hesitate to suggest tights or pop sox, but you might to go down that route. Also the BodyShop do a very nice foot lotion / powder, I think it's lemongrass, which smoothes on as a lotion but sort of dries to a powder. That's quite good for keeping feet drier ...

Another idea is if you have another pair of sandals you could wear for a few days they might aggravate it less? Or even cotton espadrilles?

I wear factor 50 on my feet to stop it in the first place but if i do get l also take antihistamines to calm it down. l end up with small really itchy blisters. l was told that as l take antibiotics all the time this hightens the effects of the heat rash.

Thanks for suggestions, i bought some allergy tablets today, taken one and its rash is`nt as red .I went to gp`s a few years ago about the same thing and was given some steroid cream, so if it does`nt go will get something from gp.
Will also buy a cheap pair of other sandals to wear until its cleared up.
    thanks val
  • My kids would kill themselves laughing if they read this as it's my solution to so many things, but I would use good old sudercream along with your antihistamine such as piriton. I don't have any shares but I do love the stuff!! :D
