Missing Student loan repayments 08/09
Hi, 08/09 was my first full year of repaying my student loan through employment and I have been deducted these payments through my payslips. On the annual student loans statement received in June 09 there was no mention of my repayments in 08/09, however it did state that they will reissue a statement if any payments are received from hmrc in the meantime.
I was wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation as I am yet to receive a new statement and it is nearly Dec! Does anyone know the timescales for this?

Statements should be issued in Sep each year but the SLC is awesomely incompetent0

I have had this for 07/08. Just send the SLC a copy of your P60

sending a P60 didn't work for my wife - they say until HMRC send them the info they can't do anything.
In her case 2007/08 was the first year of repaying student loans. We rcvd the statement for 2007/08 (in July 2009) showing £0 paid over by HMRC. The 2008/09 (received a few days later) showed the correct deductions for that year. So far been about 5 months trying to get them to sort the 2007/08 figures.0 -
Hi,
My OH had this - he pays about £180 a month towards his and they showed him as paying £200 for the whole year. He called them and they said yes, the statements were usually wrong and that next years should show last years payments. As Clapton says, they are extemely incompetent. As the loan is on 0%, your best bet is just to keep track yourself of what is owed/paid off and not rely on the statements.0 -
Did the statement say Interim or Final at the top.
If it says Interim then they are awaiting a final update from HMRC. If it says Final you better contact SLC and let them know that they don't have your repayments.
You will need you name, NI Number, PAYE Reference Number, Employers Name and amount of deductions - all this information is on your P60.0
