child maintenance arrears

Hi there, can anyone help me please.
My child maintenance is set under a court order but my ex has been mucking me about with the amounts with the result that he now owes me £675 for outstanding maintenance since Sept.
Can anyone tell me how to go about getting a court order enforced or how to apply for an attachment of earnings order so I can be sure I get the right money in the future and recover the arrears.
Thank you

My wife had exactly the same scenario.
Firstly, you have to go back to the court that issued the original order for child maintenance payments. Explain the situation to them & they will then guide you through the process.
Initially, the court will write to him & ask him to pay the arrears immediately & then continue paying maintenance when it becomes due.
If he ignores these requests, then the family court will pass the case over to the local magistrates court where they have a lot more power to enforce the order.
They again, will write to him requesting the same as above. If he ignores this, then they will bring him back to court & from then on there are various options available to them in order to enforce the order including DEO, committal to prison etc.Donedoingdebt Lightbulb moment January 2000.
