20% Off In Borders

My first thread so be gentle. Can't see this mention yet. Just got back from My Borders (Newbury) and there is a 20% off everything event that goes on until Sunday 29th. Some concessions were not included but it did include the toys, DVD's and Cds from what I could see. As Borders under administration I would be careful about buying any item that could break or Xmas gifts that you will want to return in January as that might not be possible.
This is the first time I've seen them do an event like this and I wonder if discounts may get larger if they have to close.
Really like our store and it will be a shame to loose it not to mention the employees. Hope this events helps them.

  • A little while ago (October I beleive) a number of Borders stores closed down - my nearest being London Colney. They had a 50% off sale, not including magazines. I imagine that the other Borders stores will end up following suit to clear as much stock as possible.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Borders has gone into administration - hence (I imagine) the reason for the sales.

20% off in mine as well. Popped in this morning but still didn't see anything that screamed "bargain" and a lot of stuff could still be picked up cheaper elsewhere I thought.

Beacause of the administration, my dughter went in today to spend £18 of vouchers. The information desk told her that she could only spend them if she spent double thier value!!
Needless to say, I'll be going in to sort them out!
