Jive class - what to wear?

Starting a new jive class as a total beginner. No idea what to wear on me or my feet and no money to go buying anything special.
Any jive class people who could give me some ideas of what might look/feel right? I don't want to arrive and feel a plonker
Thanks

I would think that probably just about anything goes these days, jeans, skirts or skirts but wear something comfortable on your feet as you'll be moving around a lot and any shoes which don't fit well will probably end up causing you blisters.0

I've never done jive but I did go swing dancing a few times and I think the dress is pretty similar. For classes I'd probably stick to trousers that allow plenty of movement - leggings, combats etc. But if you were going to dress up: for girls i'd go for skirt with lots of flare (again with the freedom of movement) with some little shorts underneath (to protect your modesty:D) and for guys nice suit trousers that allow movement, shirt and tie with braces (for the retro fun).
Shoe-wise as a complete beginner I'd go for soft flats like those lace up converse things. You want something that you can't fling off easily!

I used to do french jive and Id say wear something loose as you get very hot also shoes that have slippery bottoms rather than rubber. (Plus a gum shield, crash helmet and shin pads)0

Hi
It depends what type of jive it is- I have done a few different styles- Is it the latin american type of jive such as on Strictly- if so I would recommend a pair of comfortable heels/ boots as the heel/ toe movements are important. If it is more the rock and roll style jive then wear flat shoes/ trainers.
For guys just a normal pair of shoes.
Clothes wise- whatever is comfortable and allows movement. If you have long hair tie it up so you don't hit your partner in the face when you spin!0 -
