I'd stick with mum's to be honest. New tins can wait til you're a bit better placed.

    anyone tried silicone?
( just out of interest - i am sooo not going there, being a real stick in the mud traditionalist )
  • I have tried silicon but the mould was not that great at staying still but to be fair it was from Poundland. Have used an enamel bun tin which I bought from Wilkinsons years ago and it is fantastic. Would definately recommend buying enamel bakeware. Untill I can get a complete set of enamel which may well be a long time as I am trying so hard to buy everything I can from Charity shops - stand against consumerism- I have bought the non-stick baking sheets from Poundland. I use them to line my other baking tins. Great for the environment cos I don't have to keep on using paper and then throw it away. They haven't let me down yet and always release the cakes etc. One of the best things is that I don't have to cut a new liner each time I just keep a liner in each tin. I also use them in my burger maker.

    hadnt even thought of that
    thanks dolly!
  • Sorry forgot to mention that the baking sheet is just like the one I bought from Lakeland years ago. That one cost a fortune and I wasn't prepared to cut it up. I just use it for rolling pastry. At a pound a time I don't mind cutting the ones from Poundland. They are a little smaller but a lot cheaper.
