Friday 27th November - What small DFW things have you done today!?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
:D:
Morning All,
Hope no one minds me starting the thread today – I woke up early this morning and thought I’d use the time wisely (and posting on here focuses my mind)
Sorry I’ve not been around all week…it’s been a bit manic, but I thought as it’s Friday I would make a fresh start and post on here
Hugs to all that need them, good luck to people who have had interviews and boo to tesco and their boring pair of boring socks in their multipacks  (do they not know about this thread
)
Today I have/will:
· Checked online banking – payday so moved money to different accounts
· Enter comps online
· Charging phones while electric is cheap (can’t do this at work)
· Daily scratches – 25p
· Bought a new batch of lottery tickets – I know the odds are stacked against me, but it is £2 per week and I do not smoke/drink etc
· Meals from storecupboards
· Have an LSD – going out tonight, but really need to cut down on what I spend…I will limit myself to £10
· Read more of the new library book
· Washing on 30
· I have signed up to an NSD challenge thing on DFW board aiming for 15 NSD’s in December
· If I get a chance to pop into town after work, I will get all my December cards (Christmas, Birthday and anniversary cards) and get them in the post
· Need to get my timesheet signed and sent off
· Read up on this forum as I have been ‘watching’ it but not had a chance to post
· Apply for any jobs I see that are of interest
· Resist the urge to buy a coffee in town (why pay £2 when I make one at home for a lot less
)
Think that is about it but I am sure there is more to do, take care everyone

Morning everyone, today I have,
Been paid, paid all my bills and have pittance left but at least I have a job and at least I can pay my bills so I`m grateful for that.
Renewed my house insurance, hubby is 50 so he went with over 50`s company and we saved £315 for the year!! Can you believe it.
Next wk brings a final loan payment, leaving me £115 better off a month.
Getting there, slowly but surely and what a great feeling it is!!!:j0 -
Hi everyone - it is my day off today so I am on here nice and early for a change. I sold two bags of T's toddler clothes last night for £30 which was great,:j and the Mum I sold them to was chuffed with her bargain, but now they have gone I am all sad. Stupid, isn't it? They weren't any use to anyone in the loft.
Anyway today I have / will:
1) Been paid. Phew!
2) Hokey cokey. Nice enough to dry outside for a change.
3) Go to Tesco armed with a list, bags, points vouchers and a £5 MOC from the paper. (For Lidl but Mr T should accept it).
4) Find my local coucil garage and book my car in for an MOT. Re-febreeze said car in case it still smells of sick but I have become used to it.
5) Get a toy that I have sold out, ready for collection.
6) Change or renew library books. I must say I don't think the new Audrey Niffenegger is a patch on The TT's Wife.
7) Find a nice but economical present to take for a little girl's bday party tomorrow. I have lots of boys presents stashed but nothing suitable for a girl.
8) Give B lots of cuddles as she is home today suffering with lady problems, poor love.
9) Any surveys that come my way.
10) Go to T's first ever parents evening.
Have a happy Friday, L x0 -
Lurleene well done on the sale! Nautural to feel a bit sad, give B a huge hug from us all!
Bassett - well done on paying your loan off!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Morning All!!! Am working from home this morning, but, out to a meeting this afternoon, am waiting for a call as to what time (only in next town to me). Hopefully it will be before about 2pm so that we can have lunch whilst we work (meaning work will pay for it!!)
Am VERY happy today as I found out yesterday that not only were work paying bonus this year, but, I got my letter to say how much I'm going to get  am now :j:j:j. It is the largest bonus I have ever received and whilst it will not mean I can pay off all our debts, it does mean that with the money we have saved MAT leave will be so much easier money wise. On the down side they have put a pay freeze on for the next year, but, I am not complaining at all.
I am very tired today as have been out 3 'school nights' on the trot - that would be enough for me even if I wasn't 35 weeks preg!!! So tonight will be a quiet one and I'll do the following when I get in:
Take washing off airer and put away
Make shopping list for Mr T for tomorrow/Sun (whenever I can face it!)
Make to do list for weekend
Check banking
Try and work out net amount of bonus (after tax & NI) and work out best place to save it until we need it.
Early night!!!:p
Have a great day everyone0 -

Morning everyone!
Brilliant news on the bonus jonno, well done!
Ended up not having a very DFW day yesterday, turns out £30 of vouchers doesn't go far in M&S.
Have got more than enough food to last the weekend though and it means I won't have to spend all my time in the kitchen...
List for today:- Breakfast and lunch from stores
- Start work early so I can leave at 2pm
- Check banking (payday monday - thank god!)
- Update spreadsheet
- Look at ideas for New Year
- Hokey Cokey
- Change bedsheets and tidy up for visitors
- NSD
- Put the bin in the back garden
- Charge phone at work
- Spotty Socks
Have a fab Friday everyone xxLBM 17th August 2009 Debt at LBM £18,612 Proud to be dealing with my debts.0
