LOL, why did this thread get rehashed when the last post was over a year ago, by someone who just joined, and never posted before or since the one post bumping the thread back up? :rotfl:

Also the thread was started 3 years ago! How odd. :undecided

My take on this is I would NEVER be a guarantour for anyone, nor would I lend anyone anything. And I agree, the OP was either foolish or very badly informed, if they thought they would never be asked for the money, should the daughter not pay.

    FLM gave me a lifeline...

    No. Your 'garuntor' did.

Personally, i had no problems with FLM. It was my own fault that i got into debt and spent frivolously, and my only way out was with a company like FLM.

Well im sure there were other routes you could have gone down before you went for a garuntor loan.

FLM aka Amigo loan are a nightmare of a company.

They can call you like 100 times a week and text dozens of times with letters once you miss your payment.

    And they are not flexible

They are like a Loan Shark!

    Stay away

seeing as this is an old thread they still have that bad rep and probably why the re-branded to Amigo but their ways are still the same.

How would you like them to react when borrowers miss a payment.

They are flexible. You can pay at any time, day or night on your payment date

or, it would better if those that borrowed money and promised to pay it back, actually paid it back

I have small amount of sympathy for the OP as my OH was a guarantor to a now ex-friend who unknown to us or FLM Quick at the time, blatantly lied that she was employed by a well known supermarket beginning with T but needed money to tide her over until her first month's wages.

Despite the fact that she committed fraud , FLM Quick were not interested at all.

Avoid at all costs - they're just loan sharks with a website.

They did alright by me when I was in a tight spot, I never missed a payment, was never late with a payment and have just cleared the balance.

Wouldn't do it again mind you.
