can anyone help i had 2 credit cards with payment protection i lost my job due to ill health and im on incapacity benefit and neither company will reconise the insurance the cards are aqua and vanquish which i both received through post and signed the payment protection and now nearly 3 years later i have debt collectors hasseling me all the time. my smaller debt have excepted im on very low income and have excepted a pound a week but these dam credit cards which i contacted as soon as i lost my job never bothered getting back to me after i sent them several letters. im at my wits end as after my cost of living and other debts im paying i cant afford what they want me to pay each month someone please help

Hi and welcome

So you wrote offering a token payment of £1 and they didn't respond? As you are on benefits you cannot afford to keep up with minimum payments therefore if I were you I would simply stop paying the minimum (cancel the dd if you have one) and start just paying the £1 (they will probably default you but you can't afford not to and you probably have defaults on your other debts).

If you look on your statements were you being charged for PPI each month? If so then you either need to try to claim again or look at putting in a claim for missold PPI - see the reclaim board of this forum for advice on this.

Have you tried sending an income & expenditure account that shows you don't have any money spare to make repayments (other than token payments)?
