Static Hair!!!

Since growing my hair, and finally getting it how I want it, it now seems full of static!
Am I doing something wrong with my straighteners? Does it just happen to a specfic type of hair? And is there anything I can do to stop it?
Thanks in advance

I've heard that stroking your hair with a silk scarf can tame down static but I've never had to try it. Are you using any styling products with the straighteners?0

My hair gets very static-y when I'm in London - could it be a hard water problem?0

Mine seems to go through phases but I find using hair serum after straightening helps to tame it x0

If it helps I find that my hair gets full of static when I am dehydrated in a central heating environment - could this be part of the prob?0

I don't straighten my hair anymore but used to suffer with the same problem.
A hairdressing pal suggested that after I'd used my GHD's I wait 5 minutes and then blast a shot of cold air from the hairdryer through the length of my hair. Don't know how, but it works!0 -

Ooo I always do that after Ive straightened my hair and come to think of it, my hair doesnt go static anymore! I also think that using the cool shot on your hairdryer after its been straightened seems to make it stay straight and soft all day
