Right been considering this for a while and finally decided to do it. I suppose my LBM was last Friday, coming towards the end of the month, me and the missus both had about £10 in the bank.
We have been going through a lot recently trying to get solicitor to sort the house with her ex, all becoming very costly (despite there being next to nothing equity).
So on with the SOA

That SOA can change every month, my OH is a nurse who works mainly nights, so depending on how many shifts she does determines how much she brings home, this month she brought home £1500.
So far things done are ;
Meal Plan
Spend Diary
Ebay (about 12 things so far)
Take food to work
Get missus on board

LOL thanks for the support
Ebay things end tomorrow, at about £6 so far
Meal Plan worked well, all week we stuck to it, credit really goes to the missus there, she did the cooking except one meal (that I made a bodge of).
Spend diary is doing well, tbh I think it's working ok, not had any NSD yet, but it's making me and the missus think twice.
Decided to quit smoking today, just go cold turkey, dunno if it's a good move or not, will take a lot of will power.
Took my dinner in to work today and rode the bike in so no fuel used.
Gonna ebay a few more things tonight and see how the not smoking goes0 -
Hi, welcome to the boards just a couple of things
Electricty :£165 PER MONTH!!!!!
Sky: has to go/be cut
Mobile: can be cut
Grocery: £400 is too high, look on the old style board for ideas and menu planning. I can shop for 3 on £120 a month
Cra insurance: £93 for 2 cars is too high, try somwehere like Quidco: do you need both cars?
Clothing: you don't need £100, when the kids grow, try 2nd hand shops/primark, but you shouldn't need £100 a month ( even come sept you can get cheaper fromASDA)
And you're right....cigarretes should go:DProud to be dealing with my debt:eek:
TOTAL: £6,437 (04/01/2013) slowly but surely it is decreasing:D0 -
£165 is actually Gas and Electric
Sky is HD with sports, will consider cutting that out after the world cup
Mobile, Kel's is £10 PAYG, mine is £30ish on contract, use web mobile etc. and am going to be on contract for another 14ish months
Grocery we are already implementing operation meal plan and have been using the web for recipe ideas.
We don't need two cars, mine is currently SORN, but is on hire purchase and thus can't really get rid of it, it is unfortunately a fairly sporty car and as a result is fairly high on insurance, the missus had a prang recently and is thus high. Neither can be reduced.
£100 is probably an over estimation on clothes, hopefully the spend diary will show up my inaccuracies.
Cigarettes going is gonna be tough, come home from work, didn't have one, just had meal not having one, always find it hardest at times when I normally would smoke.0 -
Ended up having one cigarette last night. The missus had a few, bit much less than normal, which is great. Got one of those inhalators that looks like a tampon for tonight so hopefully the first of many NSD (non smoke days).
My ebay finishes tonight and got some more to put on.0 -
Made about 45 quid on ebay last night so that's about 75 so far. More to go on tonight.
Didn't smoke at all yesterday which is good.
Spent a boat load in Tesco last night mind. Big packs of batteries :-(0 -
Am a week now without smoking, which is fantastic.
Made a few more quid (£50) on ebay.
Sticking (although not as well as first week) to the meal plan.
Spend diary is still in play, although the missus isn't happy she has to put how much she is spending on xmas presents
Got her to cancel payment protection on her store card, £6 a month on £400 crazy.
Think I am saving £60 with not smoking
Hmm what else, cashed in a cheque from Orange for £20 that I have had ages. Been taking sandwiches to work and riding in.0 -
Hi
What a good start! Have a look on the PPI thread about reclaiming and see if your partner falls into the mis-sold catagory.
Also look at joining one of the eBay challenges to stay motivated and motivate others.Debt at LBM £19700
Arrears £4800
