rocket electric scooter e10 £69

hi everyone, not sure if this is the right bit to post this, but i thought £69 was a good price, its on amazon, however there is a slightly bigger and more robust one (e20) which is £139, i am wanting to buy 2 for christmas for a 10 and 12 year old, i would value your opinion as to whether anyone has purchased either and the quality and also which one would actually be the best buy for me!
i am obviously tempted for the cheaper one but not if it will be too small and not last very long.

sorry dont know how to do a link could anyone help with that?

If it is classed the same as electric bikes then isn't the minimum age 14?

Also it is not road legal and riding that thing at up to12kph on the pavement is downright dangerous.

  • it says "Suggested age guide (from user manual): 10 years +

Parental choice remains the key factor!"

I am aware that they can't ride on the pavements, that wasnt what they were for.

i understand your concern but how many kids have you seen racing on pavements beside you on a 12mph scooter...they are ment for private roads or parks.

my daughter uses her out on our cul-de-sac on warm days but its was mainly bought for when we travel out on bike rides, as iam able to transport my fold up bike, my 5yr ds 14inch bike along with the scooter for my eldest in my hatchback.

    regarding the ops recommendations...
    i had the previous model

my daughter had it about 2 years now and and earlier this year she cracked the plastic housing which gives acess to replace the belt and now the belt is rubbing and will need to be replaced. my friends son wore down his wheels though hard braking quite quickly. but boys do tend to rough handle them more with jumps etc...
so if your keen on that type of one i would proberly prefer this one at the same price as it seems to be all housed in metal.

i ve actually ordered this one today http://www.redsave.com/products/electric-scooter,,268 for my eldest as it was at a good price (though do remember to cancel the membership as soon as you receive it to avoid £19.99 debit each month with this company) i liked it for the brake lights and indicators aswell as the rubber tyres this model has.
another one i looked at was http://www.amazon.co.uk/Razor-E100S-Seated-Electric-Scooter/dp/B001HSO0H8/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=toys&qid=1259237935&sr=8-7

  • thank you for your comments, thats exactly what my plans for scootering were for! i will have a look now, i thought the inflated tyres were better than the rubber ones and longer lasting but couldnt really justify double the price just for that!
  • thank you so much for directing me to that site - i have ordered 2 scooters and the rest of my pressies!

which one did ya get? and colour? as you call them 01202 674050 and specify a colour..i chose red as the silver looked too plastic and dull.

wow glad you got in there quick...they are all out of stock now!
  • actually i dont know what colour i got! but i might give them a ring anyway, i panicked that they would go out of stock so i checked out before i had finished browsing, but now i have gone back to look at more stuff it wants to give me another 30 day trial and isnt remembering me, so will i have to cancel the payment twice?
  • proberly not but do so anyway!! ring and specify a colour and mention it then...
allso there is a 5%off discount code but its exempt from scooters so thats why i didnt mention it but its valid on other things...i noticed buckaroo was a good price at under £4 pounds..the code is '5%OFF'
  • oh no, that means i am on here for the rest of the day! i did ring but it was an answerphone, so will wait and see if they ring back.

    back to shopping...............
  • thank you so much for directing me to that site - i have ordered 2 scooters and the rest of my pressies!
