CSA question

I am not sure if this is in the right place.
I am wondering if it is possible to claim CSA payments backdated.
My children are now all in their early twenties. I did put in a claim in 1997 when they were all still at school and have never recieved a penny towards the costs despite the fact that their father has worked and has lived a lavish life. Is it because he moved to Scotland?
The issue I have is that I lost my house eventually and although I don't begrudge my children anything as I chose to have them I don't see why their father should have got away without paying anything towards them and will now brag how well they have done with degrees and now good jobs. I was always surprised how his sisters stopped sending my children birthday cards and acted as though they didnt exist as soon as we split up...I forgot to add he left the house in the company of the police when he went. I have moved on and am remarried now, but it still rankles that he got away with it. However I have three wonderful children and I thank God every day for them.
I know that most men do help out financially and in other ways with their children as my current husband did for his children.

You need to contact the CSA and see if the case has been closed. If it has then you need to find out who closed it and why.
If it has not been closed then you need to enquire about reclaiming the arrears and ask them to chase the NRP for those arrears - Kellogs will confirm if you are out of time to reclaim but I dont think CSA liability is ever statute barred.
Being honest though if they have no record of your claim the best thing you can do is let it go and move on in your life. You have a lovely husband now and three lovely children, there are many NRP's on here who would like to have those things and have ultimtately lost contact with their children. It has been his loss and if it still rankles then he is still occupying too much of your emotions.
