dress maker or fabric shops

Options
Hi I was wondering if anyone knew where I could buy material for clothes, like jerset fabrics

also any dress makers

I am a large lady and am having difficulty getting things to fit right and am hoping to alter a few dresses to tops as I have 2 of some of them long story short I bought 2 dresses on safari print and one plain black have worn both my mum bought exact same dresses for me held onto them until they were out of return date and then told me she'd bought them. I think she hung them up and forgot about them until she was packing for a holiday and then rang me and said she'd got them.

Anyway I dont need 2 of each so thought i'd get them shortened as tops but also wanted to know if there were any fabric shops around and dress makers who might help me brighten up the black or if i bought material make a new top.

I am now in situation of replacing my going out tops as i've had them for a number of years and they are now beyond rescuing again usually not that bothered but suddenly we have a host of invites

    You could try the Zipyard.

I have a bit of a problem with getting jeans to fit (weird shaped legs!) and they've always been extremely helpful in getting it sorted for me. Quick and very professional, and pretty reasonable too.

They have shops dotted all over Northern Ireland, though there isn't one in Lisburn. Nearest one would probably be the Lisburn Road in Belfast, just down from the Kings Hall.

For fabric you could try the Paragon Stores, there's one on Donegall Pass and one on the Hoywood Road, both in Belfast

There is a really good alterations girl in Haslems Lane at the back of Lisburn Square. Can't remember the name of the shop but she has done a few bits for me and my sisters Formal dress.
