Refused a savings account!

Hey all,
Applied for a savings account with Cahoot, and sent off the id etc. This was returned as I sent a council tax bill that the council got my postcode wrong on. Was just about to send off proper bill for ID when I got a letter telling me that they'd basically done a credit check, and were withdrawing their offer, as I was unsuitable.
This is the first time I've been turned down for a savings account - I mean, you're giving THEM money, so anyone else had this and know why a bad credit rating means no savings account?

This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Were you possibly doing it through greasy palm or quidco and looked as though you were only doing it to get cashback then never use it? Even if that is not the case then maybe something in your record made them think it was??£2 saver club £16 so far!! - it's growing!!! :j

I have some resolved CCJ's, but apart from that, I can't think why they wouldn't let me open a savings account. I did go through greasypalm, but was fully intending to use it to save up for our first family holiday! I'm quite annoyed about it, but they obviously don't need my business, so I'll go elsewhere. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half.
