Richmond Sausages - Mis-Print or im i being dopey?

Couple of weeks ago i bought a pack of richmond sausage as the use by approached...think it was the day before i realised we werent going to use them, just defrosted them today and popped them in the oven - god knows why i read the package and it says 'suitable for home freezing, freeze on day of purchase, but no more than 2 days before use by date'

Eh?

So if you buy them say on the 1st and the sell by is the 10th - do you have to wait until the 8th to freeze them??

I'm not very well at the min and i have read this over and over and it doesnt make sense

please tell me im not losing it.....?

    Sausages..............
    SIMPLES!
  • Interesting, so what if you'd bought them from the discounted section of the supermarket with that days date? Would it mean you couldn't freeze them?

They probably only put that on so that people are less inclined to wait for them to be reduced before buying them

There was a small similar problem I had with Andrex loo roll...

    "Each roll ave 220 sheets"

Was it a spelling error that should have said "have" then it should have said "has"

    or

should it have had a full stop to make it "ave." to mean average!?!

It's quite sad these little things you pick up! ;)

Or, more likely, to allow for the time it takes to freeze, and then defrost them

They are just trying to help keep you in good health by giving you a good window, sorry if that's a problem :p

I always thought it ment if you froze them today you couldn't defrost them tomorrow it would have to be 2 days frozen, then use them. lol Doh!
