Advice Needed for GAME Transaction.

Hi, not sure if this is the right place, but i will give it a go.
Last weekend my mother-in-law bought us a limited edition black Wii from GAME. She'd been planning to buy us one anyway, and the second i saw they had an offer on, i rang her and told her to buy it.
It was reduced, for the weekend only, from £164.99 to £149.99. She had to use my GAME account as she didn't have one. At the last minute she put in a Wii fit + and board as well.
When i checked my orders to make sure she'd done it right, i noticed that she'd paid the full £164.99 for the Wii, despite there being an offer on. I rang GAME and they simply claimed that because she added the Wii fit, the offer wasn't valid - it counted as a bundle and she had to pay full price.
This seems a little off to me. Yes, my m-i-l should have checked the total before she bought, but it's stupid that if she'd just bought them separately she'd have got the cheaper price.
My wife is fuming about this, and intends to write a letter to try and get the £15 back.
What i want to know is: Legally, do we have a leg to stand on? Is it unfair to charge the higher price because she bought a game too?
Thanks!

They don't seem to offer a black wii with a wii fit in a bundle so how can they say it is a bundle price. I fell out with Game last week when I found out there store prices are dearer than internet prices and they don't even price match their own website (there's no wonder high street shops are closing down). I spent my £300 in Tesco instead.

Many highstreet stores are the same. That's what comes with having to hire staff to serve customers and pay for little things such as shop space, heating and electricity. Would you rather the internet prices were just higher so they could get more profit?0 -

but the you would have thought the prices would be the same as the shops as they still have customer service staff on the phone for people to call0 -

You don't legaly have a leg to stand on, but you could phone them up and argue the fact that as they didn't sell a bundle of this type it cant be classed as being a bundle. Ask to speak to the manager and threaten to report them to trading standards as the advertised price was therfore misleading. You could also threaten to return the goods to a local game store under the distence selling regs (7 days for purchases over phone or internet). Good Luck!if i had known then what i know now0

Oh and I presume Tesco and Richer sounds have to hire staff and pay for little things such as shop space heating and electricity also. I was also trying to save Game money as they wouldn't have had to pay a courier.

Tesco Store was the same price as Tesco online. Most companies that have shops and online stores will match their own online price, Richer sounds for example mention on their website that if the store price is more expensive then they will match it.

Only Tesco Groceries section is the same online as instore. Take a look at some of things in the entertainment section and you will see the prices are different and they do not price match if this is the case.
Plus Tesco grocery orders have the same overheads as instore shopping all it is really is someone else doing a shop instead of you.0 -
Several times I have seen things cheaper in our local Tesco Extra than they have been in their online shop - just to add to confusion! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Tesco is a massive company that have the ability to cut prices lower than elsewhere, which is why the likes of Game and HMV have been feeling the pressure since the supermarkets started stocking entertainment products. Tesco online is also actually a 'personal shopper' type thing. When you order someone in your local tesco has to go take it off the shelf so of course the prices match.
Cost of sales online is ALOT cheaper than on the high street, it's just a fact. The likes of Game just cannot afford to break down their highstreet prices anymore, as then they start to lose money rather than make it, which wouldn't make much sense would it?
It's an unfortunate fact that the internet is the spelling the end of the high street shops, its sad but there's not much that can be done really. The price of rent/property in the busy areas plus having to hire staff and pay for utilities means its impossible for many stores to compete with online prices.0 -
I did what most mse'rs would do, I checked the prices on the internet, Game £299 free delivery. I go to spend my money in a local shop and guess what £309 and I walk in and collect it myself. Go to Tesco (slightly different package) £284 on the shelf, non in stock, went downstairs to Tesco direct £284 ordered it and collected it the week after with my shopping. Job done.
