Hello LondonBoy. Its been a wierd 7 weeks since my last post. I havent had much luck on the DJing as I have been working flat out to raise some cash. Am glad to say that though overtime is scarce I managed to pay off and close my Virgin card account and have also paid off my Llloyds account. This came at a cost of selling some of my gear but I still have enough to get the gigs going once I dust my spinning skills off and get out there (Hope I can find them in this downturn!).

Though Ive made progress I am on a downer now as progress has significantly slowed down. A change in my other interest rates and the drying up of overtime at work means that I am treading water. Basically meeting my minimum payments and getting by. I don't like it, its very depressing...other money saving option (which I never brought up before) is to move into my moms house and save a bit there. Problem is that our relationship has always sort of been volatile and I turned 30 about 2 weeks ago so mentally that option is real painful! Notice has been handed in and cancelled 6 times then handed in again ..... however beggars cannot be choosers - looks like Im gonna be a 30 year old man who live at his mom's house - form an orderly queue ladies!:)

Id better get my skates on and start spinning the beats. Will bet that on track with a couple of weeks then I update my site and hopefully get out there and start making contacts and getting a few gigs. Gonna check out the bar thing as suggested.

Thanks for the concern, hope things are going well for you.

P.S. Please forgive the whiney post (just re-read what I wrote!:o). Today is not a good day. Debt really does take your life away!

Tygar2 - keep your chin up boy - "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" - keep moving forward and give yourself credit for doing do well - we have all been there in the loneliness/ stress and scarieness factor, but learn to believe in yourself.

Happiness is just around the corner ;)

Just read this whole thread and now feel better. This site and its forums are invaluable. Im back to myself usual !!!!ed-of-at-my-debt self now! Good night and thank you all!

    Tyger,

I moved out of my dad's when I was 34. I don't think there's any shame in living with your parents for a wee while aslong as you don't expect them to look after you and you do have a plan to move out.

  • Hi tygar

Just logged on and read your thread - you have done amazingly well to come as far as you have :j

I had a light bulb moment about 12 months ago and I wish I had made as much progress as you although my debts are nowhere near what you have had to face upto.

Your situation reminds me slightly of mine where the debts where mounted up whilst in a relationship - then one jumps ship and you are left on your own to face the consequences. Believe me it does get better!!

I think at the moment you are still having to deal with the break up of your relationship and it will hurt. But one morning you will wake up and you will have the smile back on your face.

I cant really help much with regards to debt managment but I would stay put and the next 18 months of your life will fly by and you will start to feel better much sooner than you are expecting to :j.

    Best of luck

    Smiler x
