Bit of advice - Leeds BS

Hi,
We've applied for a shared ownership mortgage (yes i know, you say run), anyway its been 3 weeks, which is fine but the underwriters have now come back and said they need proper ID from me, i havent got a drivers licence or a passport, so i said okay, i'll apply for a passport if needs be.
The problem is they have decided they want proof of where i was living in 2007, which was with my parents for a year whilst i was in college, have nothing in the way of bank statements or hmrc letters..so i guess this is where we cut our losses and just give up.
Am i right?
Thanks
Bex

hi Bex
Welcome to MSE
Do you have anything at all relating to that time?0 -
Unfortunately not, i was living with my mother who has since cut all ties with me for moving in with my bf and she kept all my paperwork, the joint account we had, everything.
Leeds know this, and they have every bit of paperwork I've managed to find, but its just not enough.
Also dont think its possible to get a passport sorted in a few weeks is it?
We're considering just giving up and finding somewhere cheaper to rent than our current place so we can save up a deposit enough for a none S/O house. Obviously our broker is adament he doesnt want us to do that.0 -
You can pay for a priority service with the passports - have a look on their website

It sounds like though the real issue is whether you're happy with SO or not, rather than the perceived hassle of obtaining ID/POR.0 -
Doesnt count with first adult passports, will take about 2 months...I really loved the house they went for, didnt mind the S/O scheme as it seemed our only chance at the time, but i think they'll say no passport or not due to me moving around alot.0
