I have never heard such a thing and I do payroll...

Doesn't mean it doesn't happen though, like I said I've been paid this way more often than not, as have many people I know.

When I say it's normal and common, I don't mean everywhere does it, I mean it does happen and isn't something that is unheard of or wrong.
  • I think you will find that it being xmas the NHS will pay you round about the 20 of December and in Jan you will prob get paid on the 28th..
    Of course I’m no expert.
  • Thanks for the replies everyone, only just had chance to check this thread again.
Ive checked the offer of employment, it says payment is on the 28th of each month .

I've spoken to HR who said id get paid for December in Dcember (at the end of the month), so i dont know what went on with this lady i spoke to who had not been paid; I had to fill out what looked like a standard new starter form that asked for bank details on there before i got the final offer of employment.
