I know you weren't having a go SS.

Up until this, I would've described myself as someone who never suffered from stress. I though I could deal with anything, but just recently I have felt very differently.

My get up and go has got up and gone!! I sit here and do nowt from morning till night, house needs a bit of TLC, I don't go out unless I absolutely have to. I explained this to the doc, and he knows I have a family history of depression, so I just think he was a bit concerned and told me not to rush into anything.

I'm not a sciver, so I will get my backside in gear and get on with it as soon as I can, I promise

    xx

Well if you don't you know that we'll all gonna give you a kick up the backside? ;):p

Oh and to answer your question about the CCCS requiring you to have a certain amount of money to pay your debts to be in a DMP, well I read someones post today and they only pay £50 a month!

    I know you will, that's why I'm here !!

My kids go back to school tomorrow, so we will all be back into a routine. As soon at the little ears are out of the way, I will be on the phone to CCCS and put the wheels in motion for getting the debts sorted out.

I will also ring the CAB re any benefits we may be entitled to.

I will let you know what they all say.

    Hi earwig,

Sentimental reasons make me want to stay here - this was my family home.
Moving really would have to be the last resort, but at least we do have that option if we need to.

Right, I have just spoken to the CCCS.

    Aren't they nice !!!

I have an appointment on Tuesday 27th June for a debt counsellor to ring and go through everything.

They recommend that we set up a new bank account as some of our debts are with our bank (credit card and overdraft). Apparently they could take hubby's salary when it comes in to pay their own debts and leave us with nowt.

Can anyone recommend a bank to open the new account with?

I know you are unemployed but you have so much equity in your house it might be worth speaking to your mortgage company. You never know they might be able to help. I would not recommend doing the charge orders as I think you will end up paying over the top on your debts in the future.
    Good luck.
