    Yes, it is. It is a large combi-boiler and the only suitable location for it was in the upstairs cupboard (which vents through the roof).

    I thought it was just the incoming metered supply that was shared.

    Now the situation you describe has been confirmed by the OP, I really can't see how these can be honestly described as 2 self contained flats.:confused:
