And you should not consolidate it.
The bank is not going to give you impartial advice

Is your Husband in a union, like transport union, as they offer lots of benefits, and lots of help, and maybe he is igned into one of their benefits.

He came out of his union as he couldnt afford to keep paying the fees as his money was cut.0
