Not authorised by the FSA

I am having trouble getting a mortgage with my husband as he has 3 ccjs on his file. I was using an independent financial advisor but she hasn't been able to come up with anything. I had a search on the internet for bad credit mortgages and found one. The company called me tonight and had a quick chat, he mentioned that he might be able to get us a mortgage and the person he would go to is an accountant of a small building society. I just feel something seems strange about it so had a look on their web and the company is not authorised by the FSA. Would there be any risks here??

Search for the firm here
or the individual here
They should appear on both.
That said, they should have details of their FSA registration on their website anyway.
If they do not have registration with the FSA then they are breaking the Law and you will have no protection from FOS or the Financial Services Compensation Scheme0
