Unable to upload to Youtube

DD made a short video (about 2mins long) on windows movie maker from her webcam. It's in AV format but it won't upload to Youtube. It tells us there are 3-4 hours remaining and slowly uploads only to then fail with error message. File size 343mb

~Any help/tips appreciated.

Windows Media Video(.AVI) and 343MB is ok for youtube (2 GB in size and 10 minutes long is the max).

I can only think your broadband upload is a bit slow and the servers at youtube are timing out.

Try using WMV windows (better compression than avi) to encode a test video of 10 seconds and see if that uploads.

Just try to convert the file to some other format using totalvideoconverter and try uploading.

Is totalvideo..... a free download. Should I convert it to WMV via this program?

Hmmm, a bit on the slow side for broadband but should not be a problem for uploading to youtube. But on your upload speed 343mb file size is too big.

When I upload to youtube using .wmv file format my files are about 10MB per minute of video time, and I do ok, and my upload speed is 0.35mb.

I think you should explore your webcam software and find a way of getting smaller file sizes. Look for file format that saves as .WMV or .MPEG

I also want to upload a video to youtube, it takes about 4 hrs then just says failed.

What are the options please.

1. make it into several parts? How do I do this?

2. convert it into another format?

3. take it on a cd to somewhere with faster conection?
