Recycling energy saving bulbs & batteries?

How can I safely recycle an energsy saving lightbulb and standard batteries?

Anywhere special I can take them?

    Some council waste collection sites have places for batteries.

    Bulbs are too complicated to recycle IMHO so they will get landfilled.

    Don't know about bulbs, but PC World recycle batteries. At least, the one in Kings Lynn does, so it's likely larger ones will.

    Thanks for that - didn't know - I've got a PC World round the corner (but I wouldn't normally darken its doorstep).

    Ikea recycles both, but obviously don't make a special trip.
    Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.
