Consolidation loan cheque returned

I took out a consolidation loan to pay 3 debts. They gave me 3 cheques to send to the various credit cards and a loan, but one of the cheques wasn't enough to pay off the loan in full. I held on to the cheque while I got together the rest of the money to pay off the loan in full. By the time I had the money the cheque was over six months old and was returned unpaid. This cheque didn't come back to me, since it wasn't my account.
What happens now, can I just ask them for another cheque. They want to know the cheque number, but I don't have it.:embarasse
The only evidence I have is the loan statement saying the money went in and went back out again.

Managed to get the cheque details ,so I'm being contacted on Monday by the loan company to get a new cheque sent out.
When they sent the original cheque, I should have made sure it covered the loan it was paying off(a mixup). They said I couldn't pay part of the loan off,but they now say I can.

Hope the cheque doesn't get lost in the post - like a few postings on this thread which have disappeared!0

Hope it works out: Keep a very very close eye on what that company does... and double check all sums...0
