best mortgage?

After years of renting my home my landlord has just sent me a letter to say my rent is to go up from £75 per week to £100 per week and next week i am starting a job after being unemployed for 6 months so although i now get housing benefit i wont after next week typical eh!
My wife has just phoned a local housing agency and they have told us about a scheme they have were they pay half towards the cost of any home we can find and we would have to mortgage the other half:j :j
The problem is we are currently on a debt management plan so i don't think anyone would offer us a mortgage, also my gross weekly wage of only about £275 per week would mean that the lender would hopefully take into account our child tax credits which takes our income up to £460 a week.
We would be looking for a house of around £120,000 to £140,000 so would (if we were accepted on the scheme) be looking to borrow about £60,000 to £70,000.
Any advice would be appreciated:beer: i.e who would be best to apply to or anybody's similiar experiences
Allen.
