CSA PWC Household Income

Hi there,

When CSA does their calulations do they take in the circumstances of the Pwc household income and wether there are other children?

PWC claims DLA /ESA has a partner working full time and another child

The pwc has just had a phone call from csa asking for household income and wether they pay for mortgage or not.

Your advice will be greatly appreciated

If they are on CSA 2, then unless they are in reciept of state benefits (Income Support )etc then it dont matter, they could be millionaires
  • its on CSA 1
  • PWC info is needed unless they are in receipt of Working tax credit, but they would only need partners income if they have shared children in the house
  • Think they get Child Tax credit element only.

    They have one child together

They dont have to give partners income though - they cannot be made to disclose that.

No but they would be silly not to as they will only get half the child allowance instead of all of it. It works the same way as the NRP details as they get an exempt income based on their own income and this takes off housing costs, personal allowance and child allowance. What is left is added to the NRP assessable income and halved to work out the notional assessment. PWC income doesn't make a huge difference to the assessment but it does have some impact.
