Thinking about Remortgaging and Funding Extension

Hi,
I'm starting to think about my plans for the next 3-5 years and namely my plans for my property etc. I am coming to the end of my 5 year fixed rate deal on a Northern Rock Together Mortgage and I'm planning on starting to look at my options shortly after Christmas.

I have plans drawn up for an extension to my house, in order to extend my kitchen and dining room, and whilst looking at the probability at remortgaging I was wondering if this was a good time to look to increase the borrowing to incorporate the cost of the extension?

I'm looking for some tips, experience from others who have been in similar situations/have done the same thing?

Anyone any opinions?

Thanks

Andrew

  • What is the outstanding mortgage amount (plus any unsecured lending under the Together product) ?

What is a realistic value of the house, today ?
