We are going through similar kind of problem. We are awaiting on decision by HSBC's under writers but not expecting a favourable decision after waiting for a week! I've spoken to few brokers all of whom said HSBC is very picky although they have very good rates. I wish I knew this before starting!

Our only slight saving grace is we have 25% deposit and my partner is on permanent employment. But we are thinking of moving on if HSBC cant give us an answer very soon....

True...they advertise headline rates to draw people in then cherry pick from the masses.........
  • Silly question, but could you not salary yourself a 'normal' figure for three months? Typically directors of LTD salary themselves a very small amount for NI purposes and then draw the rest down in dividends - could you not (although this isn't the most tax-efficient way of doing it) salary yourself the equivalent of, say £40k a month for 3 months, issue payslips and then just state you are employed?
