How do you know that she hasn't had it paid for by a relative or sold something to pay for it..? or got a last minute cancellation, birthday present? So then all people on benefits don't ever go on holidays, or shouldn't, because they would be getting ideas above their station....??? best to stay at home and eat bread and dripping if you're on benefits then......
I am on income support and DLA ther is no way i could afford a day out let aloan a flight to Florida. What i understood of the rules of IS the most anyone can give you is a shopping bag of food, no money nothing else. I know someone who got caught out for a similar thing, they also said they were holding the money for her daughter. It ws a blatant lie she told me it was money she had in savings and it amounted to nearly 10k and before you say it no i did not grass her up they discovered it themselves! As to the bread and dripping most people on benefits do!!0 -
Hi Karina,
how do you know that this is what the council are referring to? When I had one of these letters it didnt state the exact reason, i had to wait until i attended the interview. they will have to explain the offence and maybe provide supporting evidence, in order for you to admit it.
if i was you, i would not say anything until you have been told what you are being accused of. it could be for something different, even an error on their part. the last thing you want to do is provide them with more reasons to prosecute.
good luck
Lea
