Present ideas for miss awkward!

Really helping someone can help as completely stuck for ideas for a present here.

Ok, need a gift for my BFs brothers girlfriend. She is the HARDEST person to buy for, she is in her late 20's and so not a typical girl!

She is from Rominia and doesnt appreciate things that have no useful purpose, she doesnt like smellies and girly things like that, doesnt wear make up or jewellery, is very particular about what she has in her home i.e furnishings and fixtures and is on a diet! Oh and she has no hobbies or interests really either.

Add to that the fact that try as we might, she seems to genuinely dislike me and my BF and i have a problem.

In the past i have brought her-smellies which have been received as though i had wrapped up a pigs head!
Chocolates - good in past, but not apropriate as on diet
Last year i got a "posh" hand wash set in a chrome dishy thing and she did like this, (which was more luck then anything else) but obviously cant get same again.

Please help! Im lost for any ideas whatsoever!

Do you know what kind of diet she is on, could you get her a cookbook for her diet ? Either that or does she collect anything?
Thankyou to all the posters of competitions

Why not do her a Romanian basket with some Romanian goodies in...you'd have to google but I all I can think of is paprika.

Here's a list of romanian beer here.

    Romanian food ideas here.

Conversely if she is that difficult rude and ungrateful then just get her a gift token for poundland.:rotfl:

  • I'd get her F All....you should have given up after the first slap...

She doesnt sound very typically Romanian...I know a fair few so buy her a bottle of German Schnapps and tell her to lighten up!

ok...what about a yankee candle burner with some christmas tarts?

  • I would get her a small toket gift.
Gloves? or something like that. Usefull, pretty generic...
    Trying hard to money save....
  • Does she like movies??? There are some really god ideas on here for movie hampers. You could include a few of her favourite snacks (this could traditional romanian snacks) maybe a movie or a giftcard for hmv or amazon?

Although I really like the idea of the Romanian goodies hamper, you could decoarte the box with the Romanin flag??

I second the plant idea. In a nice pot/container. Useful and beautiful. Wrap the base in cellophane and pretty ribbon.

    Thank you all :)

lisa78 - not on any particular diet, just watching her weight and i think they eat mainly cheap ready meals anyway. And also doesnt collect anything but thank you for the fab ideas :D

hollyandmatt - again fantastic ideas, but as i am so rarely invited to their house i have no idea of what they need colours etc - but i will keep that one in mind

Triker - i love your romanian hamper idea, will give that one more thought, although i also LOVE your poundland idea too! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

phantom zone - :rotfl:i wish i could give up, but its not an option, she has created a big enough wedge between him and his family (mostly as she has been so rude to them and they have had enough  ) and im determined to keep trying for BFs brothers sake. Candles though are also a very good idea - thank you.

thismoneysaving - another good idea thank you

thefamousexcuse - no interest in movies at all, but thanks for the suggestion

Kylie - this may well be the idea i go for

Thank you for all the suggestions :A

p.s just like to make it clear im not saying shes like this as she is Romanian, was just saying that she is romanian! Dont want to cause any offence!

You could give her one of those Oxfam gifts....one of my brothers doesn't really speak to me but I always buy him presents for birthdays and Christmas. I get nothing from him for my birthday ever year, and this year I decided I'd give the money I'd spend on his present to something more worthy! I couldn't give him an outright nothing, so I got him an Oxfam gift, and Oxfam sent him a card detailing how the money would be spent.

You can have the card posted to you for you to write on and you could wrap it in Christmas paper etc. It doesn't sound like you should be going to too much effort really, and there are people out there that would really be grateful for the help!
