GE Money - Option Fee??

Hi I would really appreciate any advice people might have on this please. I bought a car last year with 2yrs finance from GE Money and it wasn't until the paper work was signed that they told me about the final payment including an additional 'Option Fee' of £260 payable with my final monthly payment of £150 and according to the paper work this option fee is to cover transferring the title into my name. I was concerned at the time about how they had gone about it as when it was me and partner sorting it out and looking at cars/agreeing the finance this fee wasn't mentioned it was only when I went on my own to collect and sign that it was discussed and I felt I had no choice but to sign as it was already all agreed.

I suppose what I am asking is - is this normal or is it contestable??

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks, Claire
