Tesco - policy of taking competitors vouchers?

Incase anyone didn't know Tesco take vouchers from all competitors, but all are subject to the managers discretion.

This means that those £5 off £30 spend vouchers at Morrisons, Somerfields and Lidls, along with the £5 off £50 Farmfood vouchers are all valid?

Well, not really. Seems that my local at least has a list of ones that they do accept, despite Tesco Customer services assuring me no such list exists.

I have now received the list from my local and will be forwarding it onto Tesco HQ for their comment.

Only one of the above that are valid is Morrisons, according to this list.

What are others experiences with vouchers in Tesco stores?

I asked at the supervisors desk yesterday as I was going to buy a wii game, they had previously accepted them pre recent change in the coupon policy. They said no, so I put the game back but today I called HO and asked the question to which they said they should accept them and would call the store to sort it out,

I went in tonight and just went to the till and the girl put it through as a non scan so seemingly no problems and I didnt have to argue.

I have another to use in another local tomorrow so will see what happens
  • My local takes, farm foods, morrisons & somerfield. I havent tried any others. HTH

I asked at customer service, before shopping, if they were accepting the £5 off £30 spend Lidl coupon. Eventually told they that they were. Quite surprised then to see printed on my receipt, against the £5 discount, COMPETITOR COND. If that is programmed into the till hopefully its their policy to continue accepting these coupons. I must admit, without these coupons, I would probably give up on Mr T and his dreadful offers. This one made me laugh though.
