I really need to get out of my Doc martens now the hot weather has hit but bit short of cash. Anyone know where I can get a pretty pair of likely-to-last-the-summer flip flops or sandals for under a tenner? They have some in New Look but they look like they might break after a week.

I saw some really nice ones in Tesco the other day and I think they were only about £3. Also Peacocks and Primark if you have one near you, they are always good value for money and sell nice stuff.
Hope this helps!0 -
There was a thread in the "freebies" section a few weeks ago for a free pair of pink flip flops.
Dont know if this offer is still active though0 -
I bought some stylish brown leather ones from New Look last year for £12, they are still selling them and mine are as good as new.0

I picked up some nice DC ones in TK Maxx for about £6 but they're a bit uncomfortable. I also got some from Monsoon recently - they're really pretty and have worn very well so far. Can't remember how much they were though. God I love sandals. My ambition in life is to never have to wear socks.0

Yes, you can often pick up freebies with Cosmopolitan or Elle (usually included in the plastic pack with the mag so not even postage to pay). I've got 2 pairs of Cosmo ones I've had for years - the one with a straight band across the foot (so technically it's a mule rather than a flip-flop) is more comfortable than the one with the toe-post, but heck, they were free and they've lasted well.
I often find that toe-posts can be quite hard and give you quite nasty blisters. I've got a pair I bought from New Look ages ago and they're really comfy, and the other really comfy ones I have were from Shoe Zone - they're very pretty as well, with sequins on the top (plus they're black, so don't show marks like the beige New Look ones).0 -
Lidl have some bog-standard foam & plastic flip-flops in this week for £1.99 (if you're in Scotland or the Northeast of England, they've got them in on Saturday for £1.49), or £2.49 with a beach bag & mat. They've also got some men's beach sandals (but they're quite unisex and start from size 6 1/2) for £2.99.
Aldi have some nice-looking leather & cork mules for £6.99 and leather toepost or mule sandals for £8.99 - 3 diff designs for each.0 -
I live in flip flops from March to October as my feet swell in the heat. I bought some from Next, Monsoon and M&S last summer, think max £ per pair £10, but some cheaper. I'm still wearing them now and they've been through the washing machine a few times.0
